Berlin – With thGasDroide CNG Mobility Days on 25 and 26 June in Berlin, the Volkswagen Group, gas network operators and CNG filling station operators will continue their initiative to expand natural gas mobility in Germany. HYGEN is invited to exhibit its product at this event.

A large number of brand new CNG vehicles, such as the SEAT Arona TGI, VW Polo and VW Golf, will be ready for test drives. As a special highlight, the Volkswagen Group is presenting CNG vehicles with the new 1.5 TGI evo natural gas high-tech engine, which is installed in the TGI models VW Golf, SEAT Leon, Škoda Octavia and Audi A3.

Thanks to VW AG, vehicle users have a wide range of vehicles at their disposal, including special vehicles. With the new vehicles, the fleet of passenger cars from all VW Group brands that are suitable for CNG operation has grown to 17 models: the new Škoda Scala will be launched in the course of 2019. In addition, the Volkswagen Truck & Bus subsidiary, to which the MAN and Scania brands belong, will also be introducing ultra-modern and efficient natural gas vehicles.

Today, HYGEN’s Gasdroid is a refuelling infrastructure solution for natural gas vehicles. The system is a self-contained CNG refueling appliance composed of one-stage liquid piston compressor powered by a hydraulic motor and four storage cylinders. The refueling hose and nozzle are mounted on the separate fueling post which includes the user interface. This refuelling system developed by HYGEN, offers sustainable cost and service life advantages as well as convenience superior to all other existing solutions.

Despite all the current trends, natural gas vehicles can generally be considered to have a high “future orientation”. The HYGEN system also makes it possible to refuel with renewable biomethane. Compared to petrol and diesel, biomethane/natural gas will remain the cleanest energy variant with fossil components in the long term.

HYGEN is also preparing for the future by commencing preliminary research and development of a hydrogen refilling system.
